About

Holly Anderson (BSW, MA) is a Métis social work leader, educator, and practitioner with more than 25 years of experience working alongside Indigenous children, youth, families, and communities. She is a Director at Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS), where she provides leadership within a delegated Indigenous child welfare agency. Her practice is grounded in relational, community-centred approaches and Indigenous ways of knowing, with a focus on restorative practice, Indigenous self-determination, and systems change.

Holly is particularly passionate about centering the voices and lived experiences of Indigenous young people. She coordinates the VACFSS Youth Advisory Committee, supporting Indigenous youth currently and formerly in care to develop leadership, advocate for change, and contribute their knowledge to child welfare policy and practice. She brings this commitment to her teaching, encouraging students to critically examine colonial systems while learning from Indigenous knowledge, resilience, and community-led approaches to social work.

Holly holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria and a Master of Arts in Integrated Studies from Athabasca University, with additional study in Indigenous Peoples’ rights and policy at Columbia University.
